The mission of 1+1+1=ONE is to use Arts Based Civic Transformation™ to empower individuals, communities & societies in affecting positive social change.
Our History
“There can be no political revolution, no social revolution, no economic revolution. The only revolution is that of the spirit; it is individual. And if millions of individuals change, then society will change as a consequence, not vice versa. You cannot change the society first and hope that individuals will change later on.” - Osho
Inspired by this famous Osho quote, 1+1+1=ONE was founded in August 2001 on a shared human pursuit, the vision of being one family, one community, one society, ONE.
Working at the intersection of Interdisciplinary Arts, Social Justice and Transformation, 1+1+1=ONE works to make this ideal a reality through socially innovative programs that honor creativity, diversity, cultural awareness, and civic participation.
Our Model
Arts Based Civic Transformation (ABCT)™
The Arts Based Civic Transformation Model™ was created by 1+1+1=One’s Founder Rha Goddess, and represents the culmination of over 30 years of creative organizing in communities throughout the world.
The aim of the Arts Based Civic Transformation model is to use the creation and presentation of art to leverage new ways of THINKING and BEING about self, community and the world.
Arts Based Civic Transformation is also a means to increase the capacity of individuals and communities to approach pressing social issues from a place of VISION vs. victim.
The intersection of these four circles represents an individual’s experience of the four non-linear components of our model. This experience can be one interaction or many over the course of time.
